CUP Receives Brooklyn Community Foundation Grant

CUP Receives Brooklyn Community Foundation Grant

We’re thrilled to announce that CUP was recently awarded a new multi-year grant through Brooklyn Community Foundation’s Invest in Youth program! These grants were made in partnership with a council of youth advisors, and support community-based organizations that position youth as long-term leaders in their communities.

The new funding will allow CUP to expand our summer programming with Red Hook Community Justice Center. We’re so grateful for the opportunity to deepen our collaborations with young people in Brooklyn, especially as we explore more opportunities to center youth leadership in shaping our own work.

Brooklyn Community Foundation is on a mission to spark lasting social change, mobilizing people, capital, and expertise for a fair and just Brooklyn. Since its founding in 2009, the Foundation and its donors have provided over $25 million in grants to more than 300 nonprofits throughout the borough, bolstering vital programs and services while responding to urgent community needs and opportunities. In 2014, following a six-month borough wide community engagement project called Brooklyn Insights, the Foundation unveiled a new strategic action plan focused on youth, neighborhood strength, nonprofit capacity, and racial justice.
