Help CUP turn information into power!

Help CUP turn information into power!

Join CUP in fighting fear – and fighting for justice – today and throughout 2020.

Every day, we’re seeing fear deployed as a weapon against the most vulnerable people in our communities.

CUP is collaborating with communities directly impacted by injustice to make critical information available and accessible to the people who need it most. With our community partners, CUP turns information into power.

This year, with the Stand for Tenant Safety Coalition and ANHD, we fought back against landlords who use harassment and illegal construction to force families out of their homes, helping tenants assert their rights and keep their homes.

Over the summer, we worked with high school students in Red Hook to learn how the NYPD profiles teens of color and casts their friendships as “gang relations” to justify aggressive policing. Together we fought for more awareness of policing practices and for more space for young people in civic decision-making.

With our partners at The New York Immigration Coalition, we continue to fight the Trump administration’s efforts to sow fear among immigrant communities, by helping people understand their rights to access critical services like healthcare, even as policies are repeatedly changed.

Those are a few of the many challenges we worked on with your help this past year. And the list for 2020 is even longer. As we all set our sights on November, there’s so much we can do outside of the ballot box between now and then.

We’re bringing transparency to the rights of immigrants and people in NYC’s homeless shelters; demystifying the systems that feed mass incarceration; and helping public housing residents have a greater voice in the future of their developments, among others. In the next year, we hope to work on critical issues that will have impacts for years to come, like voter engagement and Census participation.

Your partnership is critical to making sure the right information gets into the hands of those who need it, when they need it.
