Summer investigation with students kicks off!

Summer investigation with students kicks off!

We’ve kicked off our latest collaboration with the Red Hook Community Justice Center!

Thanks to the generous support of our donors, CUP just launched our first in-person Youth Education program in over a year! Students at the Red Hook Community Justice Center met this week to kick off their investigation of marijuana legalization in New York State and its impacts on their community. In collaboration with CUP and Teaching Artist Elliott Golden, students have been learning digital skills like shooting and editing film to investigate the issue. Next, they’ll interview local officials, organizers, and community members to get their take, and will work together to create a short documentary film that shares what they’ve learned.

You can see more photos of the students in action here. Stay tuned for updates about the program!
