Families being displaced in Chinatown, students in East New York, illegally evicted SRO tenants in San Francisco, trans youth of color experiencing police harassment, female day laborers—these are just a few of the people CUP has helped to gain the information they need to effectively advocate for their own community’s needs.

In 2015, your support helped make our work with them possible. You also helped:

- hundreds of nail salon workers learn about their labor rights in a 5-language poster that they used to achieve tangible benefits, like getting paid time off for the first time

- over 260 low-income students of color get the chance to participate in CUP programs, like Stand Clear of the Rising Fares, in which students investigated transit pricing, who decides how much fares cost, and how that impacts their communities

- almost a million New Yorkers learn about the rights of rent stabilized tenants on our English, Spanish, and Chinese subway platform posters.

Now we need your support to expand that reach.

Next year will be CUP’s 15th anniversary as a nonprofit dedicated to collaboratively creating tools for effective community engagement and social change. In that time, we’ve created dozens of projects that help individuals at critical moments in their lives. Taken together, those moments build to form more informed, more empowered, and more engaged communities.

From a part-time staff of two, to a full-time staff of eight; from one or two projects a season, to over 30 every year helping thousands of people. We’ve come far in 15 years, building on an understanding that design and art have the power to play a transformative role in effecting change.

We need your help to take CUP to its next stage of impact. Your gift of $100 will help us keep producing the quality work you know us for. With a gift of $250, $500, or more, you’ll ensure that work gets into the hands of those who need it most.

Help increase our impact as we celebrate 15 years of putting knowledge and power in the hands of communities that can make our cities true democracies.
