With the recent ICE raids and continued attacks on the liberties of immigrants, accessible and reliable information is more important than ever. Below is a list of resources we’ve developed over the past year for communities vulnerable to ICE raids or who are facing deportation.
We’re Watching is a Spanish and English guide to safely documenting interactions with ICE and the police (including how to document as a witness). Our partners, Justice Committee, also made an additional handout with more information on documenting ICE. You can read it here in Spanish and here in English.
Immigrants & NY is a fold-out poster in Spanish, French, and English that guides immigrants in New York State on how to avoid immigration scams, protect their families when interacting with ICE, and create a plan for their family in the event of deportation. We made the guide with the New York Immigration Coalition — learn more about their work here.
Planning for your children’s future is a guide in Spanish and English for families facing detainment or deportation. The guide includes age-appropriate tips on how to talk to children and involve them in the process, and how to plan for such an event with your family and a potential caregiver. We teamed up with the Center for Family Life to make these guides — you can read more about their work here.
And below is a list of some organizations, including groups we’ve worked with, who are doing work on the ground to fight for and uplift immigrant rights.
