Welcome Oumar Kane, CUP’s 2019 High School Intern!

Welcome Oumar Kane, CUP's 2019 High School Intern!

CUP’s High School Internship is a paid opportunity for students who have been involved in a CUP Youth Education project in the past school year to learn more about how CUP works, build their resume, and get real office experience.

This year’s position is supported by generous donations made in memory of CUP Board Member Kofi Aidoo. Kofi, who passed away suddenly earlier this year, had a passion for education and devoted his time to teaching, mentoring, and volunteering in community programs, including as a CUP board member.

We’re honored to welcome Oumar Kane to our team this summer in Kofi’s memory. Oumar was born in Ohio and spent time in Africa before moving to New York City to start his first year of high school. Oumar is a Junior at International Community High School and participated in 2 CUP projects during the year. He is very interested in going into the health field when he graduates from high school. Oumar is also creative and loves art which is another reason why he really wanted to intern at CUP. During his free time, Oumar loves to play sports and exercise in order to stay fit. One of his favorite activities is to research and learn more about the world.
